I realized that every time i opened a live stream on youtube, there's a huge memory leak on firefox since the recent firefox update. And reloading firefox with the same tabs open brings the memory usage down until it starts to balloon again. Things seem to be fine for about 30 minutes then without any specific action, suddenly the memory just climbs constantly by fairly sizeable amounts (~300mb increments) and around 7gb the.

I've recently ran into this particular issue, firefox is having a memory leak, in where it can use up to 10 gb, just having a video open, or a tab with some radio station open without even some videos on it. Firefox 43.0.4 having issues with ram and cpu; Memory usage kept climbing with no stopping until the video cut off, but even then it ended up freezing and slowing down the other tabs as well. I am currently on firefox 131.0.3 running minimal extensions and i am still having this memory hogging issue.

So far i think i have only observed this when i have youtube or max playing videos or when i leave them open for a long time while looking at another tab. When i restart my pc i open all my firefox windows and refresh all the tabs. If i do that, firefox and the tab start out at about 1/2 my ram ~4gb, after selecting videos it will eventually consume all 8gb.

Then it slowly climbs over the following days until system memory is 90% and the same firefox windows and tabs are now using 6gb. Granted i flip through videos like changing chann. I have also had twitch occasionally break, freeze, and skip frames like crazy along with yesterday noticing reddit was taking up over a gig of ram on its own.

With everything loaded as normal my system memory use is below 50%, with firefox using about 1gb. So for my situation, the issue isn’t regular videos on youtube, but. I’m currently having it running, my work, some internet radio and youtube, and i see no more memory leaks,.

Youtube has a feature that gives you a menu on the right hand side so you can select a video, and then the next one, etc. Perhaps the memory leak is going beyond just yt or there is some other bug about. Why are there 2x firefox.exe running and using 2x ram/cpu;
